Disclosure

Sandra Foster is an author, speaker and professional consultant to the financial services industry to a number of financial firms across various sectors (such as banks, insurance companies), product suppliers (such as brokerage firms, fund companies, advisors), industry regulators, and act as judge on award panels. I also offer education to financial advisors and Canadians.

As a successful national best-selling author of numerous Canadian personal finance books and books related to the financial industry, I offer comments and opinions to the media (national TV and print, local media, have written several regular columns, been a guest radio host), and write articles. I offer professional speaking engagements, participate on panels, develop and chair educational events for the financial services industry and corporations. I have been accepted as an expert witness and given testimony in Alberta on the valuation of advisory practices.

I hold a number of professional designations—the Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Investment Manager (CIM), Fellow, Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI), and the Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP)—and maintain their professional standards. I advise a few individual clients on a fee-for-service basis, which helps ensure I stay up-to-date and practical.

I do not sell any investment products or insurance, nor am I licensed to do so. Years ago I was a successful financial advisor and vice-president licensed to sell securities and insurance. I also held the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation. I do not make referrals to any financial advisors, although after years in the industry I know many personally.

I offer my time, knowledge, opinions, and my expertise.
